FOCUS 2.0 Expose' - Contact Lens Rx

Contact Lens Rx

This area has undergone some reorganisation as part of FOCUS 2.0 redesign. We have separated CL processes in the same way as Spectacles i.e. we have separated CL Rx, dispense and ordering, whereas elements of these 3 sections were all present on the CL Rx screen in FOCUS 1.0. This should aid new users learning the system since the same principles will apply to both Rx and CL Rx. The screen is shown below:

It should be immediately apparent that there is less clutter on the screen making it easier to see where the data should go from the outset. We have added a new fitting type, ‘Trial’ so that this screen can be used to record the CL fitting history completely for customers who don’t want the full Clinical Records package. The drop-down boxes shown for Sph, Cyl, Axis and Add are likely to be replaced with simple text boxes, they simply open value selection dialogue boxes at present which generally slows entry of a CL specification. The same keyboard shortcuts for these fields apply as they do in the Rx screen and as previously detailed. The supplier Scheme ID field is used to record a 3rd party reference to the patient where this is appropriate. It is not carried through to the next CL Rx allowing different references to be recorded against the same patient where they may be on more than one supplier scheme.

The <CL Dispense> button is not shown on this screen but will be there when FOCUS 2.0 is released, and CL Report cards can be produced in the same way as detailed for the Rx screen.
